It is around 12.9 kilometres north-east from our Boronia base to Lilydale. Short runs like that are how we keep a fixed price honest instead of building travel into it. With Lilydale railway station in the middle of it, Lilydale has the pattern you would expect: closer-built older stock near the line, newer subdivision further out.

There is more to the local history than that: Lilydale has segregated bicycle facilities including the start of the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail which follows the course of the Lilydale-Warburton railway line which was built in 1901 but closed in 1964.
