Electrician commissioning a home EV charger in a Melbourne garage
EV CHARGING

Home EV charger installation across Melbourne's east

Polarised Electrical installs home EV chargers across Melbourne's eastern suburbs. We check your switchboard, mains and spare capacity first, then install a charger that suits your car and your solar. Assessments are free, quotes are fixed, and our own A-Grade electricians do the work.

Proper wall chargers installed by A-Grade electricians — load checked, cabled tidily and wired to handle the car you'll own next, not just this one.

THE PROBLEM

The powerpoint in the garage isn't a charging plan

A standard socket adds about 10km of range an hour — fine until you actually need the car. A dedicated 7kW charger adds roughly 40km of range an hour, charges on off-peak or straight off your solar, and doesn't cook an extension lead in the process.

The real question is whether your switchboard can take it. We check that first, not after.

Absolutely fantastic service and work done! The boys were super accommodating, answered any questions I had without a problem, left everything neat and tidy and overall did an amazing job installing our battery and inverter. Cannot recommend enough.

Every job finishes with a Certificate of Electrical Safety, tested circuits, a labelled board and photos of anything hidden behind a wall.

A NOTE FROM LUKE

Half the EV charger jobs we get called to are fixing someone else's shortcut — a charger hung off an existing circuit that was never sized for it.

I'm a licensed A-Grade electrician, and so is everyone who'll wire your charger. We check the switchboard first, install a circuit that can actually carry the load, and set it up to charge off your solar if you have it.

Book the assessment. Worst case, you'll know exactly what your home needs before the car arrives.
