Long private driveways, overhead supply and storm season are the local realities. Consumer mains and service lines come down here often enough that most households have sat through multi-day outages, and generators get wired in badly by people in a hurry. A battery with a properly labelled backup circuit — or at minimum a compliant generator changeover — is worth costing before the next big blow.
